One little woman who lived and will not be forgotten was Mother Teresa.
No need to go into all the ins and outs of her lifte, except to say she spent her life serving the poorest of the poor, mostly in Calcutta.
Mother Teresa lives on through her timeless words. She spoke deep truth in simple words. I'm not Catholic, but I admire the unselfish way she lived.
It has been reported Mother Teresa had these words posted on the wall of her office. They're worth a careful reading, because there are truths here for all of us, no matter our age or life situation.
*People are often unreasonable, illogical and self-centered. Forgive them anyway.
*If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives. Be kind anyway.
*If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some enemies. Suceed anyway.
*If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you. Be honest and frank anyway.
*What you spent years building, someone could destroy overnight. Build anyway.
*If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous. Be happy anyway.
*The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow. Do good anyway.
*Give the world the best you have and it may never be enough. Give the world the best you've got anyway.
*You see, in the final analysis, it is between you and God. It never was between you and them anyway.
*May love touch your heart, may peace lift your spirit and may you find happiness in all your endeavors.
Mother Teresa packed a lot of meaning into just a few words, enough to keep us chewing for quite awhile.
If we wonder what drove Mother Teresa, I think the answer can be found in 1 John 4:19, NIV.
We love because he first loved us.
He was her Power Source--and He wants to be ours, too. All we need to do is ask.
